When friends suggested that I create a website, my first thought was, ‘And what is the added value?’ At the second and third mentions, what had been suggestion turned into urging… I had started collecting my material and, at the same time, mustering the willingness to accept the idea. The project became the leitmotif for dozens of stances and events that were strung together to produce this catalog which I hope will be unfailingly clear, useful and pertinent.
My deep commitment to humanism calls for the adoption of a vision, a path, and a roadmap for a better tomorrow
I am rooted in a family driven by its great devotion to humanism: investment in man that strives to make a difference; a family that adopts a vision, a path and a roadmap toward a better tomorrow, despite the climates of disputes and division, and despite the widespread isolation and misery in several parts of this world.
When I first became aware of the world, Lebanon – the small entity from which I came – was swept through with shockwaves and is still tottering. When my generation reached maturity, shockwaves swept through the Arab World – the broader setting to which Lebanon and the Lebanese belong, and the features of whose agitation and its repercussions are still unclear. Now, the ripples have expanded to reach the edges of the Islamic World and brought back to the discussion table the issues of authenticity and modernity, of innovation and imitation, of East and West, etc. The array of dangers has, therefore, continued to expand geographically, deepening the historical rifts of the past and fissuring the future.

The website gives access to our resources which we have gained through experience, interaction, research and effort
This website features many flowering friendships, supporters and enthusiasts who contributed an insight, a suggestion, a skill or expertise…. I am grateful to each and every one of them. If it weren’t for their contributions, this work would have never seen the light of day.
I am grateful to those who have helped to bring about this website by contributing their insights, suggestions, skills and expertise
Making these contributions available to interested users is an initiative that aims at sparking their insights and input concerning the issues of the hour. Resources which we have gained as a result of experience, interaction, research and effort – aims inspired by the consensus of the scholars inviting us to “spend one’s learning as one would give alms”.
Let us, then, spend what we have received thanks to those who have preceded us and given alms.
